Fractional CFO and strategic finance advisory for businesses across British Columbia.
You've built something real and now you need the financial clarity and experienced judgement to protect what you have and grow what comes next, without the cost of a full-time CFO or a fully-fledged Finance team. That's what Veritas is for.
From wineries in the Okanagan to DTC brands in Vancouver, BC's most ambitious businesses face financial complexity that outpaces their current infrastructure. Veritas brings the rigour of a senior finance leader to the organisations that need it most.
Multi-channel P&Ls spanning agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, and direct-to-consumer retail. Seasonal cash flows, capital-intensive replanting decisions, and generational succession that demands rigorous financial modelling.
Extreme seasonality, labour-intensive operations, and capital investment decisions that need to be modelled against variable demand. Cash flow planning that accounts for the reality of running a year-round business on seasonal revenue.
Brands selling direct to consumers face a specific set of financial challenges: customer acquisition cost modelling, unit economics, inventory planning, and the cash flow pressure that comes with scaling marketing spend ahead of revenue. We have direct experience as VP Finance inside a venture-backed DTC company.
Construction cost volatility, complex project financing, and development feasibility models that need to withstand scrutiny from lenders, investors, and partners.
Businesses that have taken institutional investment face a specific standard of financial rigour. Board reporting, investor-grade models, performance management frameworks, and preparation for follow-on rounds or exits. We have led this work inside PE-backed businesses with revenues from $10M to $500M+.
Multi-channel businesses managing the complexity of physical retail, e-commerce, and wholesale simultaneously. Margin analysis across channels, inventory planning, promotional ROI, and the financial modelling that supports decisions about where to invest and where to pull back.
Clients engage Veritas when they need experienced financial thinking and rigorous analysis, without the cost or commitment of a permanent senior hire.
Financial modelling, management reporting, and FP&A that give you genuine visibility into what drives your business. Every decision grounded in data rather than guesswork.
Five-year plans, capital investment models, scenario analysis, and the financial foundations you need to scale with confidence. Built to withstand scrutiny from lenders, boards, and investors.
Cash flow forecasting, working capital optimisation, and seasonal planning that eliminates surprises and gives you control over the rhythm of your business.
Succession planning, exit preparation, restructuring, and business case development for the decisions that define the next chapter. The financial picture, clear and complete.
Whether you need an interim VP Finance or you need someone to design the finance function from scratch, including the processes, the reporting structure, and the team. Senior expertise for exactly as long as you need it.
Helping your finance team understand where AI creates genuine leverage and where it doesn't. Building the internal capability to use it well, so the value lasts beyond the engagement.
Before establishing Veritas in British Columbia, Claire spent fifteen years inside complex organisations, leading FP&A teams, building models for boards and investors, and directing finance transformation programmes. This is the experience that sits behind every engagement.
Answer 8 quick questions to get an honest snapshot of your business's financial foundations. Takes under 2 minutes. No email required.
That judgement comes from experience. Years spent inside complex organisations, understanding what drives performance and where the real risks hide. It also comes from something harder to teach: the intuition to sense what the numbers alone cannot tell you, and the courage to act on it.
Veritas brings both. Rigorous analytical capability grounded in fifteen years of practice, combined with the instinct for what matters that only comes from having sat in the room when the decisions were made.
We also believe AI is the most significant shift in how finance functions operate since the spreadsheet. Used well, it amplifies senior thinking by automating the routine so experienced people can focus on the decisions that matter. Used badly, it gives fast, confident answers to the wrong questions. We help organisations get this right.
Veritas is Latin for truth. It is a founding commitment that runs through everything we do. Every engagement begins with understanding what is actually happening, beneath the narrative and the inherited beliefs about how the business works. We go to the root cause.
We do not sell methodologies. We bring rigorous thinking, deep financial expertise, and the honesty to say what others avoid. The deliverable is clarity. The kind that makes the right decision obvious.
Veritas also works directly with individuals who are building something new. If you have the courage to find and live your creative potential but need a sounding board for the commercial side, Claire would welcome the conversation.
This might be an early-stage business idea you want to pressure-test, a financial model you need help building, or simply a space to think through the numbers with someone who has done this before. There is no minimum scope and no formality required.
Get in TouchVeritas brings over fifteen years of experience in finance and strategy across a range of recognised organisations, including KPMG, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, and WeWork, along with VP Finance leadership at a venture-backed company in Vancouver, Canada.
The firm is led by Claire Love, who holds a physics degree from the University of Oxford and is a CIMA-qualified management accountant. She has led FP&A teams, built financial models for boards and investors, and directed transformation programmes that changed how organisations plan, report, and make decisions.
Claire moved to British Columbia in 2024, establishing Veritas's Canadian practice in Penticton with a focus on serving the region's growing businesses alongside its international advisory work. She chose the Okanagan deliberately, to build a practice and a life in a community where the work contributes locally.
